Changes and improvements in Resinit’s production facilities produce increased workplace safety, and greater production opportunities.
During the late summer, major changes and improvements were made to Resinit’s production facilities. Large parts of the milling department have been completely redesigned, and a further 5-axle milling concept from Mazak has been installed. Next to his twin, which was already in place in 2008, the new machine is now being erected. From the outside, the machine is identical to the previous milling machine, differing only slightly on the inside.
"The installation and moving machinery around the factory had very little impact on day-to-day operations, thanks to the second concept we are installing," says Anders Larsson, head of the milling department.
There are also some other innovations that have been added to the new concept. These include completely new screw vices which have been specially designed for more efficient material handling and shorter lead times. The new 5-axle Mazak Vari Axis milling machine has also been equipped with a shorter chuck for faster and more stable work procedures. Many of the new parts in the concept have been designed to create even more consistent quality and a more balanced degree of utilization. The advantages of two parallel routing concepts are many. Among other things, the same type of work can be run in both machines with the same precision. Another advantage is that the processing work can be improved when both milling machines are running the same program. This also produces a more robust final result following processing. By implementing this expansion of a specially developed machine concept it will release opportunities for increased production.
"A positive result of the new milling concept is the increase in worker safety, this is because the concept works entirely encased," says Ingvar Norén, Managing Director of Resinit.
